WiYou is pronounced as “Whee You” not “Why You” or “We You”. This is because as it started as application development for multiple platforms and making it fun. We too thought it was “Why You” as in “wifi”, but that would be an inaccurate assumption on our part.
Engineering solutions to problems is fun to tackle, especially since the internet has grown from computers to interfacing with devices such as TV’s, home automation systems, and mobile devices. In the early days of the internet it was pretty much limited to the speed of you dial up modem and talking to bulletin board systems. Over time cable companies grew to be more network savy and added more content in the form of broad band internet access and 500+ channels of tv entertainment. Apparently, 4 or 5 local channels that you can pull from your rabbit ear antennas wasn’t good enough.
The goal for WiYou is to make apps that are deployed onto a number of platforms. Currently, the main platform is the mobile smartphones and tablets. The new medium of mobile devices has such a growing and exciting market and broad user base its been coined the “Internet of Things” or IOT. In addition, the touch and orientation capabilities built into many mobile devices allows us to have fun with new and innovative ways to create our applications, rather than the old keyboard and mouse interface.
